Leave Balance
LabRota tracks each staff member's leave entitlement and usage for annual leave (and optionally other types).
Viewing balances
Open any staff member's profile and click the Leave tab to see their current balance:
- Entitlement — total days allocated for the year
- Used — days already taken
- Remaining — entitlement minus used
Setting entitlements
Editors can set or adjust a staff member's annual leave entitlement from their profile. The default entitlement is configured in Settings → HR.
Overflow leave
If a staff member has used all their annual leave balance, LabRota can automatically draw remaining days from another configured leave type (e.g. a special "extra days" allowance). You'll see a preview of this when creating a leave entry.
